“Golden Swing” Tournament Rules & Conditions:
The tournament will consist of 2 rounds of 18 holes on The Montgomerie Course in Belek, Antalya, Turkey on the days of 7th & 8th of May 2010.
All rounds to be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews in the Rules of Golf 2008 - 2011, and in accordance with the Local Rules approved by the Tournament Committee with final decisions to be made by Head Professional Ryan Parfett.
Scoring will be done by full handicap stableford points. The player is only responsible for recording the gross (brut) scores on each hole and if any doubt of the stableford points scoring system should leave this blank so it can be done by the official scorers in the clubhouse.
The overall champion will be decided by the combined total of the two days. There will also be daily prizes as listed below. The overall winners of the prizes will be entitled to win only those prizes and not the individual day score prizes.
Overall 2 days prizes are 1st, 2nd, 3rd total points & 1st best total gross score
Individual days:
1st day best round score, nearest pin & longest drive
2nd day best round score, nearest pin & longest drive
Practice round times for 5th May and reservation for the putting seminar on the 6th May will be available on the evening of registration (6.00-7.30pm 4th May) they will be on a “first come first serve” basis.
Groups for tournament days are drawn at handicap order to aid speed of play and fair play.
If requested two people can play in the same 4 ball together but must not mark each other’s card. This request for a pair MUST be made at registration.
Caddies are the responsibility of their associated player and are requested to practice proper golf etiquette while on the course. If there is an issue with the behavior of a spectator(s), the individual(s) will be asked to leave the premises.
If a group is out of position due to slow play, a Golden Swing representative will advise the group to step up play. If the group does not gain pace within two holes, the representative will have the right to make an adjustment to try and correct the problem. This may include breaking the group in to smaller pairings, setting a time limit per hole, assessing penalty strokes or disqualification from the event.
If there is any confusion of a particular ruling during play, and a Golden Swing representative is not accessible, the player is to enter a second ball into play. The player then plays both balls throughout the hole and then brings the situation to the tournament referee at the end of the round for a ruling.
With respect to R & A rule 14-3 and the use of Electronic Distance Measuring Devices, Golden Swing (by local rule) permits the use of distance-measuring devices
Golden Swing will strictly enforce a dress code with no exceptions. Collared shirts and tailored trousers or shorts are required, and no jeans, denims, jogging outfits, or sweat pants are permitted.
Shorts may be worn, but must be within five inches of the knee.
Golden Swing will not tolerate vulgar language, club throwing, alcohol abuse, lack of golfing etiquette, or other such behavior. Such conduct may result in tournament disqualification and suspension or expulsion from the competition.
The use of mobile phones, beepers, radios and other such devices are prohibited during play. All players must obey the clubs dress code as well.
In order to abide by the guidelines for amateur status put forth by the R & A no single prize awarded may exceed £500.00 in cash value.
Each golfer is responsible for the correctness of his/her scorecard even though a fellow competitor will be marking the scores on each hole.
Each scorecard must be signed by the fellow-competitor and by the player.
In signing the scorecard, you are stating that the score for each individual hole during the round is correct.
Players are not responsible for their calculation of the total round score.
In an effort to equitably resolve any scoring disputes all players in a pairing must submit their scorecards at the same time to the scorer's table and each player must be available for a reasonable amount of time afterwards to answer questions by a Golden Swing rules official .
Any protest needs to be made to the representative as soon as possible after an incident occurs so that a proper ruling can be made in a timely fashion. In the event no protests are made within a five-minute period after all scores are posted on the tournament scoreboard, the scoreboard shall be considered final and prizes will be awarded to the winners.
A player withdrawal is only applicable in the event of an extenuating circumstance, i.e., illness, injury, or personal emergency.
The Rules and Regulations of this tournament are subject to revision.
Any disputes that may arise will first be rectified by applying the Rules of Golf as published by the R&A. All matters outside the Rules of Golf will be dealt with by Golden Swing whose decision will be final.
Tournament Referee for rules and scoring will be Head Professional Ryan Parfett.
